Hi guys,so there is all of those tutorials on how to convert a .app to a .ipa but since I don't want to pay the $99 dollars to compile the programs onto an ipod touchI wanted to convert the .app that xcode made into an ipa so it's just a drag and dropthing but when I follow there directions it doesnot work itunes says it is invalid

please tell me how to fix this.
    thanks,

You can't, you need the iPhone Developer's Program. Just ssh the .app to your Applications directory if you have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod and the sign it with ldid.

    Of course you can!

Once you bypassed XCode's restriction to compile for ARM, ldid -S your binary file, either on your mac, or put it in your iPhone, sign it and get it out.

You'll have your APPNAME.app folder, put it inside a folder called Payload. Zip it and rename it to APPNAME.ipa

Install with iTunes. You'll need [REDACTED]

Yes, it's a command like utility. I don't have a Mac, but you probably have to get the source code and compile it. Google it or install it on the iPhone ($ apt-get install ldid)
The second answer is in this forum, use the search function. I'd post the link, but I have it bookmarked on Linux and I'm on Windows.

Won't work if it isn't signed and compiled for ARM.
