I'm just wondering if new iBoot exploits have to be found for each new firmware on the 3g s. Could there be a KILLER hardware exploit that would remove the iBoot dependency or is the iBoot exploit necessary to the jailbreak?

Even if. Why would it matter?

Well I'm not getting my 3g s for about a month and I don't want to go through waiting for a 3.1.1 iBoot exploit to be found because if there could be a big exploit, I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Not if you have the purplera1nyday file for your iPhone. With me, I don't have my iPhone yet, thus no ECID certificate. So I would fully endorse a sweet hardware exploit.
