Do you thnk if I went to the apple store they would replace the metal casing?
I know I'll probably need to pay for it. Any idea what that will run me?

You would be better off finding a guide and ordering the part yourself and doing it.

yeah I dont trust myself with that.
A "moderate" difficulty is much like an extreme for most people.
I'm sure I could do it
But it would be just my luck I accidentally pull out an essential wire
Or stab an essential touch screen

well if you think you can't do it, its will be much better to take it to the pro one

why don't you give it a bodyguardz or invisible shield?

cant you just get a case to cover it up, its a whole lot cheaper and will prevent it from being scratched in the future, alot better buy than voiding the warranty by putting on a new back cover

Well it'll probrally depend on how many scratches there are on the casing. Better of paying like $20 extra to get a pro to do it then save $20 and mess something up and end up voiding ur warrenty and having to buy a whole new one.

i saw on the apple sight that you can order a do-it-yourself kit but i dont know if a pack panel is an option on there.

    So does apple do that?
I know it's not covered under warranty
But if its a reasonable price, I wouldn't mind paying the fee
I do t have a case now, but I saw one that was a rubbery material, pretty thick, and had a granade like pattern, "carved" (for lack of a better term) into the surface. I really want one of those but I cannot find on on the interwebs for the life of me!

I just bought a replacement back panel and LCD digitizer... I can't wait to take my iPod apart and start fixing!

Oh, let's just say I'm, "rough" with my iPod, hehe.
