I was wondering would it be wise to delete some apps like stock and weather to get more memory from /application file? WOuld that cause any harm?

i don't think it would free up that much memory...

you can delete them from SSH.

Storage space savings would be negligible.

Maybe safe, but you'd save like 300Kb. In other words, it's so negligible a change as to have been a waste of effort. You'd save more removing a picture or song from the iPod.

I doubt you would see any noticeable gain in RAM from not hiding them.

Hiding apps has a negligible effect on RAM usage. And what do you mean by "complain"?

You honestly wouldn't gain much memory, and stock apps like mail use more memory, especially if you have push, but if you just want to save springboard space or have no plan on using the app, poof it. (Search the app poof in cydia.)

It's like saying your house has increased in size because you hid a box in the closet; 'hiding' an app doesn't decrease RAM size, nor does removing it from the device. Yes, the icon's not there... but you've gained absolutely nothing. You used more space to install OpenSSH to SSH into the iPod than you saved by deleting that app.
