My son gave me an iPOD Touch in advance of my 70th birthday. It is wonderful but, I made a big mistake when I first began to use it.

I pointed it to my main photo backup folder and it loaded all of them so that the photos are now taking up much of the available 8Gb.

I have read the PDF manual and searched through the available options in iTunes but cannot see a way to remove some/all of them.

I would prefer to remove all of them and start again with just the picture folders I want on the iPOD.

Any help for this stupid old man would be much appreciated.

I can see the list of photos in iTunes but nowhere can I see a delete button.

    Regards

    John

Ok, all you need to do is:
    conect the ipod
    open itunes
    go to your ipod
    photos
and there you can select the folders and blablabla

    Choose Photos.
    Uncheck Sync photos from -whatever-
    Then hit sync.

Thanks to both of you but it is the "blablabla" and the "whatever" that I cannot find.

Down the left hand side of iTunes I see a list under Library that shows Music, Movies etc but NO photos.

If I go to My iPOD under Devices I can click on the tab along the top that says Photos. That then gives me a scrollable list of all the photos with the options to sync from Pictures or Choose folders. Then I can select All Photos or selected folders. At the bottom are two buttons named cancel or Apply.
For the life of me I cannot see how to delete any photos.

Please bear with me, short answers are obviously not helping me.

In your iPod along the top click photos like you said. And above the list there should be a check box. Uncheck it then hit apply.

You can do it on the iPod itself.

    Go to the Photos App.
Click the button on the bottom, farthest left.
Select the photos you want to delete.
    Select Delete.

That only works with Saved photos, not photos that you have synced through iTunes
