I want to use my ipod mini to boot the windows vista install so i can install it on my pc because A) i dont have any 3gb CD's or DVD's and B) the biggest usb i have is only 2gb.

I hear i have to re-format my ipods partitions, ive already done this when i installed linux onto it but i wanted to know if i delete all the partitions on the ipod, will it even be able to boot afterwards? Is the firmware of the ipod stored in the partitions of the drive?

    Thanks

I'm guessing if you format it completely, it will act like any other usb stick.
So you could put whatever you want to boot from it on after you format, just make sure you don't restore it with iTunes after its been formatted or you'll put the ipod firmware back on
