Does anyone know if it's possible to delete icons that came pre packaged on the main screen of the ipod touch 2nd generation? I don't want the contacts icon and can't figure out how to get rid of it.

yeah, sad to say thats the truth, or u can wait till the jailbreak comes out, and then you could hide it with categories or boss prefs or something of that nature.

You can't delete them but maybe you like to move them to a second homescreen.
If yes, hold the icon for a few seconds and then just move it right out of the screen onto a second homescreen...

If you could somehow dig out your preferences property list in a backup, you can add the application's identifier to the hidden applications key used by parental controls (just like Poof does).
I doubt that the property lists are just there though, I think everything is sent over in chunks.

Thanks everyone. I just don't want all my phone contacts taking up space on my ipod. I'll deal with it.
