    Ability to Delete/Close own threads. Good/Bad idea?

    I don't know if this has been posted somewhere before, couldn't find anything, but I think that a good addition to the site could be;

    Say I had a problem, then 'bob' helped me solve it. In order to stop people then carry on posting without knowing that the problem is solved, I could just 'close' the thread, so that no more posts would be posted.
    Same thing with flaming and the like. If a Moderator doesn't manage to get to the thread, I could close it myself.

    Like the idea?

    I totally agree. If the problem is solved, or things get out of hand, the maker of the thread shouldn't have to wait until a mod comes around and closes it.

    My friend at another forum is a mod and they have this in place, he says they haven't had any real problems and if people are abusing it, then they are only locking their own useless threads

    I think this would be a great idea. This way the rhreads that have been answered will be closed and not bumped a month later. Also you should be able to edit the title of the thread.
    anyway thats just what I think
