Hello guys! i've been thinking, its there a way to decompress all the contents of the 1.1.3 firmware, change the SpringBoard file that allow you have all the apps... and then recompress it again in order to use it to upgade the ipod with it??? it would be very nice for people that only wants the january soft upgrade and the wiggly icons....

There's an easier way of doing this.... pay $20! It's not that much of a stretch, is it? You don't need these new features, and you have no right to claim that it should be free.

Also, releasing the decrypt key for any old person to use would be highly unethical. Sure, with a bit of detective work you can get hold of it, but that's not the point.

I believe the Wiggly Icons is a Script. Not an App.

Yes, but when people say "all the apps" or something to that effect, they mean the new features (wiggly icons, lyrics etc.) as well.

it should be better if somebody releases that... i just want the january upgrade... not all those 3rd party apps that most of all are useless...

    Then pay the $20......

The Jailbreak is mainly for 3rd party app support anyway.

Easier way to do this- JB to 1.1.3-- get the 20 soft upgrade for free from ipodtouchmaster's repo ( if not included in the jb you use)-- go to the uninstall tab in installer and uninstall BSD Subsystem, Community sources and installer -- Respring

You may want to ssh in after you install the 20 update and delete the
    installer.app folder

why not just add ipodtouchmaster's repo to installer and download all of the apps and the wiggle feature for free?

    It might be possible..
Just do dmg2img like NateTrue's method and then force a soft restore.
    Interesting concept.
