This will not help you jailbreak your iPod (though it might assist you in restoring the custom ipsw if you modify "script").

What this will do, however, is assist you in booting your jailbroken iPod.

    1. Put iPod in DFU
    2. Run Decovery for your platform

Works on Linux (32/64), Windows, and OS X.

Decovery is based on iRecovery. It is successor in thought only to 1ClickBoot, but does so much faster.
iRecovery - shell + automated scripting infrastructure = Decovery.

    Please read the included README.
I won't answer questions that are answered there.

This has been tested on all three platforms.

    Standard Tethered Users
    2-3x faster than 1ClickBoot.
Can be left running: run it and leave. If you plug in a DFU-mode iPod, it will boot it. And then exit. That's just how We roll.
    Windows .zip: Here
    Linux/OS X .tgz: Here - updated link

The script in this version uses 0wnboot. If, for some reason, it won't boot your device, try this:
Unzip this into the folder you have decovery in, replacing script.
It uses redsn0w (and is still faster than an 0wnboot 1ClickBoot).

    Semi-Tethered Users
Windows users have reported having difficulty, but they also built their ipsw with xpwn.
DISCLAIMER: I and this tool can't be held responsible for it not booting properly if your firmware wasn't built correctly.

If you're on Windows: You want this.
If you're on Linux or OS X: Pick Me!

If you want the source code, check it out! Here

If you're having issues with libreadline on Linux, try this: decovery-lin-readlinefix.tgz
They're Decovery-l32,64 not linked with readline, as it's not actually required.

If you have trouble on Linux, try running them as root. I don't need this, personally, but some others do.

    Good luck!

A first post? That's a little strange. I'm not really that concerned with doing the semi-tethered jailbreak because I've never been stuck without an iPod. I've never had to restart it when I 'm not at home. I've made a habbit of rebooting it every couple of days to play it safe.

I know it seems a little odd for it to be my first post. I've been lurking for a while and I figured that I would give something back to the community.
I guess.. you start with a bang. What's left? If I managed to help somebody, so be it

I've got a version, as mentioned, that just uses 0wnboot, anybody wants to test it with a normal tethered jailbreak.

    Cheers!
