Brand new iPod pretty much worked awesome for the first couple weeks. Then out of nowhere it stops charging. Syncs and all but no charge. No idea what to do. Want to go talk to a mac genius but no mac store here in ID. Any suggestions? Running out of ideas, tried restoring it regular and DFU mode and still nothing. Charges for the first 10 secs when just plugged in then just has a plug icon but not bolt icon. Any ideas? Please I need some help.

That's without a doubt a hardware malfunction. You're going to have to return it to the store you bought it from, or send it to Apple. It's still under warranty.

Are you sure the computer you're using has 2.0 USB?

Ya thats what I thought too, but when I use numeric battery display it says 88% and does not increase.

yup 2.0 USB and I tried all 3 USB ports and on different computers.

I restored everything, used an old cable respring and so far its working. But I'm going to keep an eye on it for a little bit. Its still under warranty so I'll send it back if I need to.

I assume your Ipod is jailbroken? Or am I mistaken?

    ~Jailbroken~
The problem may be your firmware. What firmware are you running?
Could you give me the Itunes and Ipod firmware? Thanks.

Has anyone seen those charging pads. I just saw a commercial for them and it looks like itll solve your problem.

    Ok some updates.

Woke up today and started checking out some stuff on iPod. Well I noticed when I plugged it in it starts charging...sorta. charged up all the way from 88% to 95%. I was pretty happy about that. Then let it sit for a little more but nothing happened stayed at 95%. Unplugged and it went up to 97%. Plugged back in and it went back to 95%. Weird.
