so I just turned on my ipod and it was a complete charge yesterday of 100% and I go to turn it on and its at 8% wtf. I was wondering why it did this and if my battery might need replacing maybe its getting old? I've had my ipod for about 2 years now. I have the ipod touch 1st gen, 3.0 firmware.

I don't mind charging it up but just curious as why it did this???

You could have had music going without noticing. I hate when that happens.

It takes a lot of power to turn it on. Maybe that's it?

it definately does take some, not all though, it takes like 10% on 1st gen touch, at least on my old one.

    And your point is?
Unless you have a warrenty (really f???ing extended one) still covering it... your better off getting the 2nd gen. i'd say 3rd but i guess everytime you turn it off and back on yuo have to RE jailbreak. wouldn't bother me though because i nvr turn mine off, simply lock it.

    This is differenty though--
~100->~200 for a replacement battery when you could just as easily get a new ipod.

    Nuff said xD
