I now honestly think that apple puts a cap on the read/write speed on all of the devices.

With Total Commander i can get up to 4MB/s, so 6GB took a bit over 40 minutes.

I'm now syncing that 6GB back but with iTunes and its taken 2 hours already.

What is Apple's problem, and is there any way I can speed this up?

I blame USB. If they had FireWire everything would have been easier, but no

That FTW. USB 2.0 was a complete fail.

    USB 3.0 is 10x fast USB 2.0.

I figured out what it is, Instead of apple making iTunes constantly load up files, and then just set the perms. they have it load the file, then set the perm.

this is what they are doing:

    | Upload | | Set perms| | Upload | etc

    when they could:

    | Upload | | Upload |
    | Set perms | | Set Perms |
