With the release of the SDK, I can't help but wonder "if". The iPod touch, essentially, is a basic eMac. It has a 400 Mhz Processor About 116 MB on RAM And a decent speed system bus. I may be missing a lot...but I still don't understand why is it impossible to install a Linux OS on it? I understand the first limitation right off the bat : Touch Screen Drivers. Solution? Let me name a few. 1) Lycoris' Desktop L/X Linux Distro. 2) Unix WinTab Digitizer drivers 3) Debian Linux distro Tablet PC edition etc. All The iPohne and iTouch are, are just eMacs with a touch screen. That's it, in a nutshell. The second limitatyion I see is Bios compatability. Solution: Flash a new bios! o_o If some moron can solder in a chip into a PSP, or a DS, and flash a new BIOS onto the onboard NAND memory, somebody can do it with a computer like motherboard of an iTouch. Come on, people...let's think here. Puppy Dog, or Damn Small, or any other low-grade Linux distro can be installed onto the iTouch with Digitizer drivers. Simple as that. How we go about doing it...well...that's the problem of the developer, not me. I'm the guy that points out the main details. Let me make this clear. I DONT WANT TO HEAR EXCUSES Excuses are like assholes, everybody has one. Look at the big picture. Look passed the speed bumps. Push toward the goal. Simple as that.
