Alright, so this guy I knew got an iPod touch and he asked me to jailbreak it and he gave me 5 dollars. I oblige.

THEN this asshole tells me that it's stolen, and asks if there is anyway to track it. I am wondering, seeing as I used my computer, my wi-fi connection, my iTunes to do this - can they track this to me?

Anyway, I convince the kid to return it to whoever it was stolen from (some guy named Boris), and I'm doing a DFU right now. Is there any way that I can be tracked to this?

Donno, I think I hacked a stolen one once.(Because the guy got it for 50$, 8gb btw) You know what would be sick is if I got to hack me 16gb and stole it back. Apple never does jack sh*t about stolen iPods anyways. I know from experince. The cops don't do sh*t, your school won't and Apple won't. Good luck.

And if you report it to apple they will say call your credit card company and then they will say I am sorry but we can only refund your money if it was less than 30 days old. Your golden either way. It's up to you to feel bad or not for knowing about his stolen iPod and doing something about it.

I'm not taking any chances. I just restored it via DFU and I'm in the process of a reset all content and settings from the Settings Menu.

Nothing is going to happen to you. Just return it to said jackass and if the FBI come knocking, give them the guys address or whatever, but I doubt anything will come from this.
