Well I usually take my USB charger to college with me in my bag, so that I can charge it during the day.

However, the other day, a drink leaked in my bag (I don't think theres a person alive who that hasn't happened too! lol) which was in a seperate section of my bag to the charger... But it leaked through anyway, so my charger was soaked in Pepsi.

I got it home, dried it with a towel, and tried it and it wouldn't charge my iPod and my PC wouldn't recognise it.

So I let it dry off for a few hours and tried it again. This time it worked perfectly, charged my ipod to 100% and I unplugged it.

I have just tried to recharge my ipod with it and Windows says:

"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it."

Now my iPod won't charge again...

Any suggestions? Am I going to have to buy a new charger?

Well there are chargers for like 5 dollars around, try ebay, or...

Get someone here to sell it to you or...

Buy a Dock, and use it as a Charger, less Expensive or..

Clean it with Alcohol, it might just be Dirty, try another Computer or USB port, or...

    well that's kind of it

I have tried it in all the ports on this machine.

I will most likely try the alcohol suggestion. What would be the best way? Cotton buds?

I don't want to dissapoint you, but I think the problem is the iPod, not the usb ports or the charger.

I doubt that, the charger got soaked in Pepsi. The iPod is functioning fine, as that was in my pocket the whole time

You Didn't Disappoint me, Electronics are actually washed in Diswashers (i have seen this) like circuit boards, and well all electronic..

    but the point is...

iPod was never in contact with Soda, end of story, but, you do have a point and I will take it into consideration saying...

use Alcohol on the iPod, well if you can get it in there, because You might have thought it was dry, but now its full of Sticky soda, and that's why it doesn't charge.

    (just a guess not fact)

    Yeah, lol.

So what type of alcohol do you suggest? Does it need to be like paint stripper, or will Vodka/Gin work?
