    Needed tools:
    WinRAR
    GZip
    QuickPwn 2.2.5-2 for Windows

Was playing around last night with my iPod Touch 2G and jailbroken firmwares and whatnot and discovered the fix. We've actually had it for a long time now. The working .tar can be found within the Windows version of QuickPwn 2.2.5-2.

All you need to do get the file is simply extract QuickPwn.exe from the QuickPwn225-2.zip archive. And then open the QuickPwn.exe in WinRAR, navigate to Data, you'll see a few files there, extract Cydia.tar.gz.

Now in order to get the file in the proper format, you'll need a program able to unzip .gz(gzip). Winrar can open and decompress .tar.gz, but it is not what we'll be using in this case. You'll want to download a command-line interface version of gzip. Open a command prompt window and change to which ever directory you extracted Cydia.tar.gz to. Type in the following:

    Code:
    [b]gzip -d Cydia.tar.gz[/b]
The tar.gz will be unzipped into a usable .tar archive of about 31.0mb, the resulting file is just a few bytes larger than the one provided in XPwn 0.5.7 and is also a day newer too. This file should be suitable for any variation of jailbroken firmware. If anyone has any questions post here and let me know.

Yeah it's fine to link to it.

Cool, so this will work as a cydia fix for the semi-tethered?

It should, but I cannot verify that. It does however work perfectly fine on the Run RS and original unmodded tethered jailbreaks though
