Somewhere between the minute 3.0 is released and infinity.... roughly.

Really know one knows. Depends on whats changed and if they can/want to continue support. A lot of apps never made it from 1.x to 2.x and it took a few weeks/months to get what was ported, ported to 2.x

I'd imagin it would be similar to the 1.x - 2.x upgrade, but less severe. There is a lot that apple cant just change this time around.

this time it definetely won't take too long because the main frameworks just won't change. how should they? all the 2.x apps have to work with the 3.x firmware without a change...

and even if they make changes, then the appstore apps also have to be updated so I think they'll just add new frameworks but won't touch the older ones

    Exactly what he ^ said.

There was no major frameworks change as there was from 1.x to 2.x a.k.a App Store and such.

All 2.x apps have to work with 3.x or are just changed slightly.

It won't take very long at all if there is a problem.
