I just jailbroke my new 2g ipod touch using redsn0w and it worked perfectly other than one thing and i cant seem to find it in the forums. When I launched Cydia just like any other ipod it had some essential upgrades so i clicked to install them and this message popped up!

"Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on essential"

is there a fix or did something screw up in the jailbreak process??

    Are you on 3.0?
if so, When you Jailbroke, did you check both Cydia and Icy?

What i meant was, did you install it [Icy] at the same time you jailbroke?
    Alongside Cydia..
