Cydia keeps crashing. Its been working fine until now.

First thing I did was open terminal and terminal opens with:

    /bin/mv: try to overwright /var/mobile/.profile', overriding mode 0644 (rw-r--r--)?

What the hell does that mean?

What is mv and why is it trying to overright .profile?

Edit: I tried apt-get update from the terminal and it ends with few errors. Reading package list... Error!
    Problem parsing dependency Depends
Some package errors and a source error.

How can I manually delete a source from cydia?

    /bin/mv: try to overwright /var/mobile/.profile', overriding mode 0644 (rw-r--r--)?

    means that...

mv Renames a file or moves it from one directory to another directory.

/bin/ is where all the commands are stored

so.. /bin/mv is trying to change or modify /var/mobile/.profile with the ownership of 0644.

What did you do before this happened?

Just tried to open cydia, wouldn't open so I tried a few games they opened fine. Whent to the terminal and that's what I saw. Its crazy!

Edit: Restarted springboard and now I get:

/bin/mv: cannot stat /var/mobile/ .profile.tmp' : No such file or directory
    /bin/mv: missing file operand

Edit: Checked with mobilefinder and .profile.tmp is there, but it has permissions 777 for some reason?
Edit: No its not there? That was just .profile
    ------------------double post merged------------------
    Fixed it!

Went to /var/lib/dpkg/info and fixed the permisions on on of the .lists and Cydia runns like a champ now!

I've moved this to Firmware 2.2 jailbreak as Cydia questions shouldn't be posted here.

can you be a bit more specific with what file you had to change the permissions on? I'm having the same problem only, its giving me "/bin/mv: cannot stat '/var/mobile/.profile.tmp' :no such file or directory" and when I run apt-get clean or apt-get update it says it could not open lock file
