So basically, the iWork suite for iOS was updated today for devices on iOS 5.1 or higher. The problem is that I'm already jailbroken on 5.0.1, and I don't want to upgrade and rejailbreak just to update a few apps. Is there any Cydia package that overrides the minimum iOS requirements?
I believe there was a "firmware spoofer" (as it's called) back with iOS4, but I'm not sure what it's called or whether or not it's been updated to work on iOS5, but you can accomplish this task manually by editing the SystemVersion.plist file located in /system/library/CoreServices --> SystemVersion.plist file. Just edit the system version values from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 and see if it works. But do know that neither methods are a permanent fix because some apps may be built specifically for that firmware structure and will crash if installed on lower ones, etc. So although there may be problems with some apps, it will work for others.
Alright thanks, I'll give it a try. Editing a few plists has nothing on the extensive jailbreak process.
