Hey everyone. I was wondering if I install the 4 packages it wants me to, or how can I turn off the notifications if I do not need the apps. The apps it says I should install are:

    bzip2
    diskdev-cmds
    libxml2
    SQLite v3

I do not think I need these upgrades, or do I? I just wanted to get rid of the '1' on the icon.

why not just install the updates... that way your ipod is up to date and also you remove the annoying 1 on the icon. its win win. i can hardly imagine asituation where you have so little space that installing updates actually fill your ipod.

Well I just didn't want to install every application that shows up, because after time it will fill up. And if I do not need the application then I wouldn't think I should install it.

These are updates for software that comes with Cydia, they won't fill up your iPod.
Why would it notify you of new packages being added that you didn't already have installed?

    Yes, you did.
    They are part of Telesphoreo.

    Telesphoreo?
The Cydia equivalent (even though it provides a much richer environment) of BSD Subsystem.

Oh, hmm, I just went to Manage and didn't see them. That might be why I was confused.

Well, I see that bzip2 is in the Cydia distribution to begin with, so that is part of it to begin with.
The others were just added to Telesphoreo most likely, so even without them being installed, you see them because they are included in the updated Telesphoreo.
