Hi, I've ran into some problems with Cydia.

Whenever I try to do anything (installing packages or sources) I get this error:

    Method http has died unexpectedly

Method /usr/lib/apt/methods/http did not start correctly

I have already tried restoring and re-jailbreaking but just ran into the same problem.

Anyone know wat the problem is?

    Thanks.

dont restore from a backup. Start as a new ipod, the reason why it keeps saying /usr/lib/apt/methods/http did not start correctly is because restoring from a backup brings back all your files including ur jb ones.

    HEREĀ“S THE SOLUTION

I just rolled back to Mobile Substrate 0.9.3005-1 (the previous version before all the errors) via AutoInstall. I SSHed using Fugu and copied in the mobilesubstrate_0.9.3005-1_iphoneos-arm.deb to /root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/. Make sure you set permissions to 0755. Then reboot and dance (optional).

    Cheers.

I don't think mobile substrate would cause the problem

I have the same exact problem. Ever since I re-jailbroke my ipod, cydia has been being retarded on me.

Yeah, Rock is much better, if it works. It can be just as messed up as cydia.

Yeah my Cydia isn't working at the momment but Rock is. Although Rock tends to freeze when I install and uninstall packages so I want Cydia so work.. Blah. I'm wanting to restore. But with the new iPod Touch 3G its forcing me to update to 3.1.3 how do I restore to 3.1.2 or is there a way to update to 3.1.3 then downgrade to 3.1.2? I'm confused...
