So while I was installing a package today I saw that it removed the *PROGRAM-THAT-INSTALLS-PIRATED-APPS*, and the *PATCH* that lets you install from iTunes.

Well I don't use that program for piracy, but for installing IPAs (my cydia apps) fast via an app for windows that I have made with Visual Basic and for mac in XCode in objective c.

Am I allowed to post a screenshot for proof ?

Good thing that Cydia or the Cydia packages try to fight piracy..

Cydia has hit a new low. imagine if iTunes deleted all of your Frostwire music collection by itself (legal to download music free here in Canada). same principal... It's just wrong. Or if a Windows update deletes that copy of Photoshop on ya.

Even though I hate that app this is the wrong way of 'fixing' it.

Not sure how true this is... I dont have the app, but I do have the patch because its required by some legit software I have in order to install. I just went into Cydia, and since I had no updates I picked a random app and installed it. The patch wasnt removed.

Perhaps it was a specific package and not Cydia itself? What package were you installing?

IMO you shouldn't make cydia automatically remove the package, but not let it add sources that contain those specific files. This way a lot "casual" pirates would stop pirating. You should still be able to install it through iFile with an .deb though.

It's the package removing it not Cydia.
