Ok, so I have recently tried to install a game rom pack from a cydia source, but it crashed in the middle of it. So I went back to cydia, and it started crashing. So I removed cydia via mobile terminal. But when I went to reinstall cydia, it game me this message:

E: Could not perform immediate configuration on 'essential' .Please see man 5 apt.conf under APT::Immediate-Configure for details. (2)

I've looked all over the internet and have found nothing. I used redsn0w 0.94 and I used a custom boot screen and I have a jailbroken iPod Touch 2G (firmware 3.1.3). Could someone please tell me what I need to do? Thanks.

Wait, you installed Cydia through Essentail? You use Graphical User.

If not I would do a complete restore and jailbreak through Spirit.

Yeah, I could, but its a pain in the ass to do. That's why I posted here, so I could find out if I'd need to rejailbreak or not. Besides, all the guides I've read say to fix cydia, you have to uninstall it, then reinstall via mobile terminal. But for some reason it didn't work.

Also, is there a way to install rock from mobile terminal?

If I did that, would I loose my custom boot screen? And yeah, I used the graphic user setting in cydia. I didn't feel like typing code to get packages all the time. Why, does that mean something?

Yes, you would lose your boot logo.

Yeah, but there are tutorials on the internet on how to get Custom boot screens on untethered manually.

Mine, I think, is untethered. What does tethering do anyways?
