I have seen other threads for this, but because Cydia wasn't working, but this is a little different.

I uninstalled Cydia via the "apt-get remove cydia" in MobileTerminal. I then tried installing it again by "apt-get install cydia". And it gave me some kind of error. I'm not really too concerned about this, for I'm pretty sure I can just install it with a deb file from apt.saurik.com. The problem is, I'm not sure which file I should download to get Cydia. Please help.

    Thanks,
    Zeke

EDIT: I installed one of them, and Cydia does load. But when I try to install/uninstall anything, I get this error: "Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (1) on cydia." What is going on? Please help me!!!

On apt.saurik.com download the latest Essentials.deb and install it before installing Cydia.

Thanks a lot! I'm trying it out now.

Edit: Nope. Didn't work. What now? ☹

Try rebooting. That usually fixes most problems like this.

I just tried that. Still doesn't work. I also installed Icy through a deb file, and that doesn't work right. I'm giving up on JB, and going to the new 3.1.3 FW. My question is this: will all those JB files still be on my iPod when I update? I know they're not gonna be usable, but will they stay? Because if so, then I'm gonna need to restore before I JB again (with the so far nonexistent tool, I'm willing to wait).

Updating is essentially the same as restoring. It's like restoring to a different firmware version, pretty much.

Except it doesn't remove my official App Store apps.

Yeah. I updated. And I know what I'm gonna do next. I'm gonna restore to get rid of all the non-functioning unofficial apps (yes, I know it'll delete my saved games, etc.) and the JB it with some instructions I found on the Internet.

Just download redsn0w 0.9.4. it has support for the 3.1.3 jailbreak and works good, even supports boot logos.

You restored from a backup. You need to set it up as a new iPod. To remove those.
