i just jailbroke my ipod touch 2g with 3.1.1 firmware. i installed cydia and icy but then later after jailbreak was done, went into cydia and uninstalled icy. now, when i tried to download lockdown, after i hit "confirm" the bar moved an inch but then cydia crashed to the homescreen. im not sure why. any help would be appreciated...

I have had that happen to. Usually I just restart the device. After you install major system packages just turn your device off and on. It should fix that...

another way to fix cydia on 3.x is to go to on winscp (windows users)
and look for /var/lib/dpkg/updates. and delete all the numbered files such 0000,0001,0002 etc.

Hmm, ok obvious question but you are connected to the internet on it right? Those setting have to be redone after you JB.
