Cydia Crashes on startup

    Hi guys, as us jailbreakers are basically CRIPPLED with out Cydia, I need help!

    So when i tap on cydia, it shows the regular screen, and after 5 seconds, it crashes!

    Whoever helps me will get 200 cool points!

    ssh into it or use MobileTerm; run this as root:

    dpkg --configure -a

    are you sure? i don't want my ipod screwing up again...

    yes. cydia crashes when dpkg fails, usually due to bad package install. That command does a cleanup (nothing is removed)

    ok. i typed it. it went to the next line, and after like 2 seconds, it said

    normal? and cydia should work nao? or is a respring/reboot needed?

    EDIT: tried it. cydia works beatifully now. Thanks so much!

    EDIT 2: all of my sources are gone...

    Yep, it works silently, nothing is returned and Cydia should work again immediately - no reboot.

    Cydia > Changes > Refresh

    Yes, I don't remember if my source list went away when I had that happen. But your installed apps are still golden and worst case, sources are easy to re-add
