    Okay, so I want to get from 3.1.3 on my iPod Touch 3g 32gb (Mc I think..) & I don't mind loosing most of my jailbroken stuff, but I's wondering whether there'd be any way that if I copied all my current iPod's contents into a folder I could fish around in it for the things I'd want to move onto iOS4.

    I thought some might work seeing as how Cydia Apps are stored as native apps like Mail & Safari.

    I don't know how complicated it'd be, but thankfully there's not too many things (well, it could be worse ;] ).

    Of course I s'pose the easier option'd be to wait until there's a JB for my ipod, but I must be honest, there's only a few things I'd like to keep from a JB.

    [So maybe I could develop a way whereby when there's updates I could simply copy the things into the correct folders corresponding on the new update..]

    So here are the things from Cydia I'd like to move over:
    Apps:
    iClassic, Music Controls (uses wii controller as iPod remote), WiiMote,
    iFile, UnlimVideo, Mobile Theatre, Music Controls,

    Function Additions:
    Overboard,
    Scrobbl,
    Safari Downloader,
    Winterboard (just for the 'Tap to Unlock Feature')
    Five Column Sbringboard (even if it'a long shot),

    And if anyone knows any specific way to get them to work with IOS4 without havign to JB & by copying them over it'd be much appreciated.

    In fact any kind of feedback, help & advice would be appreciated!
    Especially from those on whatever iDevice that's JB'd on iOS4!

    Thanks for reading, I hope you can help me on this.

    Thanks again!

    Why don't you want to jailbreak?

    That's impossible - wait for jailbreak (any day now) and enjoy it.

    It is simply not possible. And it never will be.

    Word.
    Jailbreak it or don't Jailbreak it.
    One or the other.

    Well, it's not a case of not wanting to JB, but, for me, I'd be happy to go back to normal firmware defaults & if there's a JB very soon, then there'll be no need to worry & I'll go with that.

    But, I don't really want a lot of the stuff TBH.

    And then I won't have to bother with waiting for new JB's in future as I'd just update & put back in the specific things I want.

    O' course if there's a JB for a 3g iPod T soon, then I'll just go with that for now, but as I said, there's only a few things I'd want from a JB all in all.

    BTW, another thing I'd want to keep is MP FLip which changes the 'Music' & 'Video' icons to one 'iPod' icon like on the iPhone, though apparently there's some file that can be changed easily for the same result..
    Just thought that'd be worth mentioning while I remember.

    EDIT:
    Sorry, just read the other replies; so you reckon for a new full JB anytime soon?

    I admit, that a JB will (most likely) be a lot easier to do than copying files & stuff...

    But surely, there'd be a way to move cydia apps into an iOS4 ipod as native apps (as they would when they're JB'd, but then maybe it wouldn't work without a JB..).

    SSH into your device (or iPhone Browser). Find N72AP.plist - Look for:
    Code:
    		<key>stand-alone-contacts</key>
    		<true/>

    Paste in a New line behind it:
    Code:
    		<key>unified-ipod</key>
    		<true/>
    Should look like this:
    Code:
    		<key>stand-alone-contacts</key>
    		<true/>
    		<key>unified-ipod</key>
    		<true/>
    Saving that and Rebooting will give you the effects of MMP Flip...

    Thanks for that there! I do much prefer one icon!

    And I can use that on iOS4 you think?
