So I running a 1g iPod Touch, with jailbroken 2.1. Its only 8gb =(, and i was trying to free up some space. I went into cydia packages and saw all sorts of packages that I never specifically installed. Wtf is with that? All i've ever installed was [PIRACY]us (from [PIRACY]us), winterboard (w/killsigncarbon blue and vista mobile), and dTunes. Heres a list of whats on it:

    adv-cmds
    APT
    Base Structure
    Bourne-Again SHell
    bzip2
    Core Utilities
    Darwin Tools
    Debian Packager
    Diff utilities
    Erica Utilities
    Find Utilities
    Gawk
    GNU Privacy Guard
    grep
    gzip
    inetutils
    iPhon Firmware
    less
    nano
    network-cmds
    New Vi
    resync
    sec
    shell-cmds
    system-cmds
    tape archive
    unzip
    zip

Some of these, i think, are from [PIRACY]us? I've also downloaded a couple apps from [PIRACY]us..

Those are the things that make your iPod and Cydia work. If you uninstall them, you're going to run into problems.

Probably not wise to talk about [PIRACY]us here. But yes, those packages are necessary for Cydia to work.
