    hey...when i try to SSH into my iPod Touch (8GB. jailbreak 1.1.3) it says 'connection has timed out' i have also tried to use WinSCP and that doesn't work either...please help!

    Okay, there are a number of things that have to be correct:

    - IP address
    - Username: root
    - Password: alpine
    - Port #: 22
    - You have to be connected to wi-fi
    - SSH has to be turned on

    Yes, all of those are correct and it still says 'The connection failed due to an error or timeout.' What do i do now?

    Hmm are you on windows? You may have windows firewall blocking your FTP access, so try disabling it and see if that works.

    ok i turned off the firewall and it still says it timed out...

    Well if you disabled it completely and it still doesn't work, then maybe it has to do with your 'Internet Security' software.. (eg. ZoneAlarm, Norton). If any of those are enabled, then try disabling them (at least temporarily), and see if you can figure out what is blocking the connection...

    im confused...what do i disable?i have AVG FREE Edition, or should i do something in the control panel security settings under internet?

    yes, i've watched that a million times, my iPod doesn't connect to it.
