I'm running on a jailbroken 1.1.2 FW and I'm happy with it and I don't really care about updating (last time I tried, bad things happened >.<)

I know it's a lot safer now but I'm fine with 1.1.2 and don't want to have to restore my iPod to upgrade because I don't have my songs backed up anywhere... it's a long story

My question is, does CuteFTP pro not work anymore? It's not allowing me to SSH into my iPod, I've tried everything but it just doesn't work. I'd like to get my songs that I've saved on the hard drive off of it somehow but idk any other way to SSH into the iPod.

Could you please tell me how to get CuteFTP working or an alternate way to access my hard drive on the iPod.

    WinSCP

Dude, seriosuly, SSH in and copy /var/root/Media/iTunes_Control/Music, and then upgrade.

you may have changed your ipod's ip
    maybe it has ssh off
    maybe your router is malfunctioning
try totalcommander with the t-pot plugin
    run reinstalling ssh
try a backwards sync drag'n'dropping from your ipod into your itunes library.

    SSH
Install an app such as NetServices or BossPrefs to toggle SSH on and off.
    Reboot.
Also, you may want to uninstall and then reinstall SSH.

    Client
Also remember that the IP on the iPod changes periodically, so go into
    Settings-->Wifi-->Blue Arrow of Connected Network

    Username: root
    Password: alpine

As Gitykins stated, I'd recommend WinSCP.

For the Music, TuneAid is a program I'd recommend. Compatible with iPods and iPod Touch/iPhones. It makes transfer much, much easier. Transfers playlist and all this in acouple easy steps.
    *I'll send you more info.

The connection failed to receive acknowledgement of data sent and therefore timed out.
    1) Please try connecting again in a few minutes as the server may be temporarily down.
    2) You may verify that the problem is not local by trying to connect to an alternate server.

    That's what it says...

I'll check off what I've already done:
you may have changed your ipod's ip - check
maybe it has ssh off - check
maybe your router is malfunctioning - check (normal wifi works fine)
try totalcommander with the t-pot plugin - No idea what that is...
    run reinstalling ssh - check
try a backwards sync drag'n'dropping from your ipod into your itunes library. - you mean I can take all the songs off my hard drive through SSH if I can get in?

/var/root/Media/iTunes_Control/Music (is that where all the music will be?)

Should I try WinSCP? Would that make a difference?

    Thanks for any help...

I've checked my ip 1000 times it's checks out.

Everything seems to be in order, I used to do this all the time but I haven't done it for a while.

I just really need to get on the hard drive idk why it gives me so much trouble.

To get into my iPod DiskAid works for me on 2.1, you plug the iPod in to use it, would be way quicker than transferring it wirelessly.
