    With the new software pack installed (1.1.3 and the januari upgrade pack)
    you can add a web clip to your homescreen, with an icon of your site.

    Please Register or Log in to view images

    Here's how to do it;
    • Make an icon (Photoshop or whatever) with dimensions 57x57 pixels
    • save it as a png-file, and name it "apple-touch-icon.png"
    • ad this file to your root direction of your site.

    next thing you'll have to do is;
    • on your iPod Touch browse to your site
    • tap the "+" at the bottom of your screen
    • and tap "Add to homescreen"
    • give a name and tap "Add"

    that's it, your own site web clip icon, now your site is one tap away for every iPod Touch/iPhone owner!

    that is really cool! but what if people want to use the screenshot as their icon instead for your website?

    Yeah, this is listed in the web app development section on apple.com.

    This is also useful for creating other webpages. I have custom icons now.

    Actually, the icon ends up looking clearer if you use an image larger than 57x57px. The image will be scaled down to the proper size.

    well I, personally like the icon to show me exactly where im going rather than showing the website's logo. and if the website owner isnt good at photoshop the icon cant be changed.

    you've got a point there, but the small websites displayed in the icons will not show you in one glance which site it is, a logo would be better i think. But everybody got there own preference offcorse.
    Lucky for us, we can type text to go with the icon

    Update:
    I found a site where they explain a way to set your own icons for every site you want!
    i'm not sure it's for the iPhone ànd the iPod Touch, but its worth the try.
