im just wondering if it is possible for someone to port the old customize (you know the one that actually worked and let change stuff) to 2.1. because that would be amazing.

It's already out, and called "WinterBoard".

    Learn to use it.

Customize does have a GUI so it's easy to customize your device with images from several themes without the need to SSH into your phone, it's more user friendly.

    I'd use it.

    Two ways:

    1) Download a slider for Winterboard from Cydia, and then check it in Winterboard.

    2) Find a theme you like the slider from, open the theme directory up, go into Bundles/com.TelephonyUI and copy the sliders from there into another theme directory (eg: MySlider/Bundles/com.TelephonyUI) and then open up WinterBoard and check the new slider directory (MySlider).

so if i have my own sliders all i have to do is ssh and put them in the theme folder.
