So I read up on how to SSH and change it though, but one quesion: If I replace it with a song, and I open the text message, will it stop automatically? Since I text a lot and so does almost half my friends, I want to be able to wake up when I get one.

I'd assume it normally stops, if that's normally how the SMS app usually works.

If all you are changing is the ringtone, then how and when it stops shouldn't change.

No, the SMS tones are supposed to be short sounds, and if you put a song instead it will play the whole length of the song, because the iPhone only gives the command to start it, not to stop it (I tried it).

You can, however, use StatusNotifier or IntelliScreen to add reminders, so once you get a text, it can remind you like every 5 minutes or something like that.
