hey iPTF forums, would any of you guys know how to make custom sound effects? As in for the keyboard, SMS, lock/unlock and so on? I'd prefer NOT to implement Winterboard, because my iPhone 3G running 4.1 is already pretty slow, Winterboard would make it INCREDIBLY slow

The Cydia app "ToneFxs" provides sounds without W-board, so I was wondering if there was another way similar to the one the said app uses...

    Thanks a lot!

Well you could replace the sound files in the firmware with custom files. That would take some work, but it would be possible.

Use something like iFile, or SSH, and go to /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/

That is where all the sounds are located. To make custom sounds, get the sound you want, open it in iTunes, and covert it to .aiff. After that take the .aiff file and replace the .aiff suffix with .caf. Now test it. It should open in quicktime now.

Be sure to backup the original sound file, make sure your custom sound has the same name, and copy it in, then reboot.
