custom keyboard coding ?

    is it possible to NOT show the keyboard when clicking on a text field, instead of that to write numbers from buttons on the view...something like a calculator
    i'm new in this so i don't know all the possibilities

    You could disable user interaction in the textview via the inherited 'userInteractionEnabled' property, thus preventing the keyboard from appearing, while retaining the ability to update the visible text based on input from independent buttons.

    Are you aware you can choose a numbers only keyboard on your textview/field?

    If you want your text to never be editable by the user, use UILabel (for 'static' text) instead of UITextField. Otherwise, you can try the other suggestions.
