So Im not very familar with plist files, nor the file system for the iPod. I know enough linux to get me by with changing permissions, moving files etc... However, How could I go about creating a custom firmware with my Mail.app settings already in place. In fact, all of my settings for that matter i.e. screen lock time, wallpaper, etc... Is this possible? Really, I dont care about re-downloading apps from installer, I would rather be able to have my settings in place.

You do know that all preferences are backed up by iTunes right?

    Preferences, Webclips, Mail, everything.
