So almost everyone will have upgraded to having the maps app right?

Regardless of how it does it.......

-Does "current location resolve a location for you? (assuming you are on wifi)

-Does it get it right, rightish or totally wrong?

-If it wrong Where are you and where does it say you are?

The reason I ask is from my research if you are in the UK or US you can pin point your location using skyhook and nearby wi-fi towers. But I'm in New Zealand - its not that it can't find me, it knows exactly where i am - apparently in Dresen Germany. WTF?

    So how about for you?

works perfectly for me. Occasinally, if i press it after it already found my locations it will move it about .5 miles away from my house. But other then that my house is in the DEAD center of the circle.

odd that it sees you in germany. try using a different wifi network.

So perhaps its not "UK and US", Its perhaps is "EU and "North America" works properly.

As for my Wi fi networks, I'm solely using my iMAC as an Access point using internet sharing. So perhaps its something to do with the iMAC, I'll check with other networks but in New Zealand almost everyone has WEP.

.. wait a second.. your profile says tylobedo has an iphone, doesn't that make your experience locating irrelevant?

    Anyway thanks for the reply.

Well, considering I'm on a neighbor's wifi, it's 2 blocks over when I do the current location. I'll screenshot it later.

Neighbor's is where Google Maps shows it on my iPod. (I used Google Earth because I am not outside, but I remembered where the location was.)

    [EDIT] Wow, super cut-off.

I filled out the Skyhook form. Does anyone know how long that takes to become active?
