    i got my free itunes account by trying to download a free app then you can select "no card" or something in the credit card thing.

    this is a bit of an old thread people, started in 2007, lasted till 2010, probably best to leave it be, and in our current 2011 time, while creating a new account, you have the option to not enter a credit card, meaning you can only download free apps

    Well if you get an iTunes gift card, you can buy too. Basically anything. You just can't gift anything.
