I don't want to pay 20 bucks for MyWi and creating an Adhoc network wherever I want to would be useful to exchange files and multiplayer gaming. I do not need this to tether, but it could always be a +

Are there any alternatives ? Or do I absolutely HAVE to pay 20$ .

If you mean create an AdHoc network from an iPod or iPhone [ or iPad ] for file transfer, there are SEVERAL alternatives. iFile supports Bluetooth file exchange. And most App Store games use an Infrastructure Wi-Fi connection or Bluetooth. So as far as gaming goes you don't need to worry about AdHoc.

GazaIan: I would like to be able to create an Adhoc wifi network at school because the network they give us blocks every port except 80 so it can't be used for anything except web surfing. And I am not always at school so creating a network outside of school would be very useful.

Cito: iHandy Light would be perfect, I downloaded it with [PIRACY], since it was the only place and I'll try it and tell you how it worked out.
