    Hi,

How do you create a folder in Mail that allows you to store all the past emails? So that you can move them into the new folder? I'm using gmail at the moment

    Thanks

I haven't figured out a way to do this yet from the iPodtouch. I do however know it will work if you have mac os x as you can setup the folders in Mail.

I think if you look around gmail in the settings there will be something about leaving messages on the server. That might be your ticket. Then just create a folder/inbox in gmail and see if mail.app on your ipodtouch imports it.

Basically if you leave messages on the server gmail should import any folders from gmail right over into your ipod. At least it does with mail and my .mac account.

to my understanding, you cannot create folders in gmail because they do not support folders. however they do support lables, but i do not know if it works with the mail.app

    Hope this helps : D

If you have an IMAP email account you can create a folder directly at the main email interface on the web. Mail will then automatically synchronize with that folder and you can then put emails into that folder.

This doesn't work with POP email accounts (like Gmail).
