hey, my ipod touch 1g has been going crazy every so often with flashing colours, mostly white whith horrizontal lines..
so its definatley a graphics glitch..

it normally reboots, but after the last session it will not boot!

i could send it back to apple..

anyone got any ideas of a cause or fix?

    update:
it seems to come on when it wants to, but doesnt stay alive long enough for a restore.

Have you tried to hold down the power and the home button to restart the firmware? ;o

Plug in your iPod to your computer while it's off/on, doesn't matter, and hold the power button and home button for 8 seconds. If you keep trying about 5 times, it'll probably work on of those 5 times if not the first.

yes kkkiller, ive been trying that for a while now,
half the time it does nothing, half the time the (pine)apple logo comes up for a few seconds, followed by tons of crazy flashing, then it shuts down.

i have managed to get it into dfu mode a couple of times but it will go crazy before i can repair it.

after 100s of failed restore attempts, i finally restored it...
its weird that it hasnt crashed yet.. could that have possibly been a software problem?

That happened to me once on 1.1.1 but then it crashed and came back. Weird glitch though.
