ok, here goes,... if im double posting, im am sincerely sorry.

i was playing around with my ipod (official firmware 2.1.2 or something (2nd gen)), i was in google maps and it froze due to continueous zooming out and then i pressed the home button twice and the music screen popped up and the music started stutering. so i used the slide to power function to power it off but the loading following it was taking too long. so i hard reset it ( power + home button) and when i turned it on, it said connect to itunes, but when i do, it says the ipod is locked, put the paswword in the ipod. but u cant put the password in the ipod bcoz the connect the itunes thing doesnt change..

    all help will be appreciated.

Try putting it into DFU mode again if you can (I don't know if you can if it is already in DFU mode), and hook the iPod up to the computer BEFORE you put it into DFU mode again. Just a suggestion.
