    Hi all,

    I have recently found a strange crash in the Calculator app on my iPod touch 2G running firmware v3.1.3 - jailbroken.

    I would like to know if this is just my device, or a bug in the OS.
    All you have to do to see the crash is quickly tap the calc digital display 3 -5 times, and the app will crash within the next second or so.

    Let me know your results.
    Thanks.

    im on jailbroken 3.1.2 and it doesn't do it using the method you described. maybe just a 3.1.3 thing.

    do you have any copy/paste apps installed from cydia? double clicking here causes the native menu to come up, so that could be a conflict.

    My 3.1.3 2G Jailbroken iPod touch doesn't crash when I do this. Probably your device. Try restoring.

    id say its some conflict with something you installed from cydia. apple firmwares don't just install wrong on a whim.

    I see.. Thanks for the input.
    I do have a copy paste extension installed through cydia.. "Action Menu"
    That just might be the cause, since it even crashes with a simple double tab of the calc display.
    I will remove the package and test again.
    Thanks

    Open the calculator, then hold the sleep/wake button until the "Slide to power off" screen appears, then hold, not tap, the Home button for about 6 seconds, or until the iPod exits the app. That should reset it, so try it again after that.

    @ChrisMims,
    Just tried it, the app still crashes after resetting it.

    @NitroBum,
    Removing "Action Menu" from Cydia solved the issue!
    Turns out it has a bug when in the Calculator app - where can I report this to the developer?

    Without "Action Menu" holding or double tapping the calc digital display results in a copy/paste popup.
    Thank you!
