My ipod touch had no cracks before I put in in my front pocket and got into a car to go home. Once I got home I took my ipod out of my pocket and there was a crack at the top left part of the screen.

I still have my limited warranty and I would like to know if apple will do anything about it.

I'm asking because I didn't drop it like in the other situations I've read.

I highly doubt it. This counts as an "accident" if you were to talk to an Apple representative imo. Not sure though; you should try it anyway since you've got nothing to lose

You need to make up a story where it broke under normal operating conditions, and hope they believe it.

The screen doesn't crack under "normal operating conditions", but nice try.

Ok, you just say that itunes gives you an "unknown error" when you restore.
You tried everything and are desperate:

    -you reinstalled itunes
    -manualy put in restore mode
    -tried on another computer... etc

Contact your apple support and that is it

YOUR IPOD MUST BE CLEAN BEFORE YOU SEND IT BACK, NO JAILBREAKING STUFF

    Do this

Say you left it charging overnight and you woke up and the iPod was EXTREMELY hot and the screen was cracked. It looked like it was melting.

he needs to send it back to get a new one and needs a good excuse for that. Would you like having an iPod with a broken screen?
