    Hey
So yesterday my ipod was in my pocket, and i fell....didnt feel or hear anything, and it wasnt a bad fall at all.
Then i pull it out of my pocket and bam, a thin crack across half the screen. 1 hour later, i put it on my table..and the crack spreads to cover the entire ipod, from one corner to the other. dam.
It's just one thin line, but i was wondering if it can get bigger or widen or make my ipod easier to snap in half or something. Its just the outer glass i think, since i can still use everything, and when i touch the crack the touch screen is still sensitive. My main worry is it getting worse....and mabye hurting my entire ipod eventually

how can i get it fixed??? I still have apple's limited warranty, and i can DFU/restore back to unjailbroekn firmware.
also, if it's not under the warranty, how much does it cost in the US?

well no one is gonna give you $30 worth of parts not including labor for free. your best bet to stop it from getting worse would be to put a screen protector on. i would suggest a nice one like invisible shield or ghost armor but bot those will put you back 15 bucks

ya, well i put a screen protector on it
will the crack expand? like it already went from half the screen to accross the whole thing diagonally, so it cant get longer...can it start branching out or becoming wider? i dunno anything about glass

i assume its in a weaker state now so you have to be even more careful with it.
if you be very gentle with it im gonna say it wont expand

When I cracked mine it started as just a small crack above the home button, the cracks then grew every time I put too much pressure on it, they don't stop until the cracks hit the edge of the screen, and also afterwards if you do anything else to the screen it is wayy more vulnerable and causes a lot more cracks

in honestly it is not that hard to do it yourself, when you take the outer screen out which is the digitizer you cant do anything to the rest of the device, just snap the new digitizer back in
