Could this be the answer?

    I know Apple stopped signing 3.1.2 but did they stop below that? What if we could restore to 3.1.1 or even 3.0?? Can somebody try? I don't have a >3.1.2 IPSW to try it with..

    I think (and for all I know, this could be completely wrong) that they send out a specific "message" (for lack of a better word) made for 3.1.3, and it resonates with something only found in 3.1.3. As I said though, I could be wrong, someone should attempt.

    downloading a 3.1.1 IPSW... Give me 30 mins to an hour. Ill pst when its done.

    Are you going to try to restore on your iPt3G? I thought they could only go as low as 3.1.1?

    you couldnt restore that low, if you try to shift restore u would get a error

    I'm gonna do it on both my 64GB 3G and my iPhone3G 16GB.

    I've tried downgrading to 3.1.1, it just fails, same with 3.0

    use ipt2g fw and dfu it SHOULD work

    lower generations will work without errors
