When I had my iPod its screen got scratched in my empty pocket. Which is weird because a knife can't scratch it. Yes, this would be nice.

Said it yourself in the article, possible in the future. No way it'll be in the next iPhone

I'd like it to have a diamond screen.

I'm not even worried about scratch resistance, Gorilla Glass 1 had that set pretty well, my Sensation has just one noticeable scratch about 1mm long, and it's hard to see unless you're in direct sunlight. Scratch resistance isn't the problem, crack resistance is. It seems that the larger the phones get, combined with the thinner piece of glass (which is supposedly stronger), the easier it cracks. Galaxy S3 devices were cracking left and right, yet Gorilla Glass 2 was supposedly stronger.

The only reason I hang on to my Sensation is because its freaking tough. I've dropped this phone hundreds and hundreds of times, and the only real damage occurred is on the back (white shell looks demolished, but the black shell still looks decent). The screen is still perfect.

    *cough cough* nokia

But yeah, thinner phones really aren't an advantage for glass :/

Yeah this would be great. I would really like the days of needing a screen protector to be over, not to mention cases.

Never had problems with my iPad with scratching. Haven't had a screen protector on it or anything. I do have one on the iPod Touch which I might not even put one on it if it gets this.

I would definitely spend more for a naturally-protected screen for any smart device. I hope to see the scratch resistance soon.

Gorilla glass is getting stronger and no the next iphone will not have a sapphire screen.

Well you don't put your ipad in your pocket for a start so it is a lot less prone to scratches.
