    To start off they = Apple, as you see I am restoring here either this means its verifying your firmware on your ipod touch to see if it is a valid one or it is verifying the software you are putting on it.

    2 sides of the story

    What do you think side 1

    This is my personal opinion of what the image above is depicting, when you restore it checks your firmware and reports it to apple or something like that so they can have a look in what people are doing with there ipods not just to crack down on it but to gain ideas

    What do you think side 2

    Its just simply checking to make sure its a valid firmware for the touch, not an iphone one.

    LOL I did this to waste time while restoring, but then its stuck there now.... it asked me that diagnostics message and I am curious

    Maybe you can't restore if you have a jailbroken iPhone/Pod

    I am using a pwned one, did you use a pwned one or just a JB, it seems Pwning is more mainstream now and they may know more of it? just a thought!
